Hello, I'm Glant Havenar
I am your Mayor of Palmer Lake.
I offer a wide variety of experience in leadership roles and will act as a part of a strong team of Trustees that I bring to the office of Mayor. I have attended or participated in an estimated 400+ municipal meetings over my many years of public service to Palmer Lake. I have held many decision-making roles for various Boards, Commissions, and/or committees of which I have been a member, and understand the complexities of often seemingly straightforward issues. Through participation, over multiple years, in governmental training, legislative sessions, and county boards I have gained the insight, training, and the knowledge needed to make or guide excellent, and fiscally sound choices for our town.
Without training and participation like this, the role of Mayor would be a slow climb upward to gain the skills needed to be truly efficient and effective. My love for our community is evident; I've been serving the communities of Tri-Lakes and Palmer Lake in multiple capacities for many years, including the following:
- 2022 to Present: Mayor of Palmer Lake
- 2016-2022: Palmer Lake Board of Trustees
- 2021 to 2022: Director, Palmer Lake Economic Development Group; Co-chair, Events Committee
- 2017-2018: Parks Committee: (now Parks Commission) -- in 2017, I implemented the Holiday Lights competition, which my family looks forward to every year!
- 2017 to 2023: Board of Trustees representative to the Palmer Lake Board of Adjustments
- 2018 to Present: Board of Directors, Pikes Peak Area Council of Government
- 2022 to Present: Board of Directors, El Paso County Board of Health
- 2013 to 2017: Colorado Parents Board President for the Federal Service Academy Ball
- 2022 to 2023: BBCOM Vice President: Palmer Ridge High School
- 2021 to Present: Established Palmer Lake, "Letters to Santa" program. Answer the letters to Santa from the children of Palmer Lake and Tri Lakes.
- 2021 to Present: Established the Palmer Lake 50-year Time Capsule
- 2022 to Present: Palmer Lake Wine Festival Event Coordinator
- 2017 to present: Extensive training with Colorado Municipal League and Pikes Peak Area of Government
